Miller, mother of a 10-month-old girl, had been stabbed, beaten, and choked to death in her 115 Spring Street residence, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
In an archival report from the Allentown Morning Call, investigators said they saw evidence of a violent struggle in the home — vases were knocked over, covers were pulled from the bed, and a telephone was off the receiver, indicating a possible attempt to call for help.
A bread knife with "traces of blood" was discovered in the sink, the newspaper reported.
Miller lived in the duplex unit with her daughter and her husband Scott, from whom she was separated at the time of her death, per the Morning Call.
Police told the reporters during the initial investigation that there were three suspects in the slaying, but none were ever charged.
According to state troopers, Miller was a 1974 graduate of Nazareth High School and worked at the Beer Stein Tavern in Wind Gap at the time of her death. She was previously employed at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and the Gracedale Nursing Home.
A $5,000 reward is offered for any information that leads to a break in her case.
